Inclusion Support Assistant (Infant school)

Job Description

Zest Education are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Inclusion Support Assistant to work at an infant school in Cannock. The post will be to start ASAP and initially be fixed term with the possibility of becoming permanent.

The infant school is full of hardworking and committed professionals who work together to provide a welcoming, nurturing and safe school. They are looking for an experienced Inclusion Support Assistant to join the team and help move the school forward in its continuing development and to sustain high standards.

You will be expected:

•            to promote and safeguard the welfare of children

•            to support pupils in order to achieve learning goals

•            to support the teacher in the planning of learning activities

•            to support and maintain positive links between home and school

•            to help with the care and support of pupils, including those with special needs,  individually and in groups

•            to assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour Plans and Personal Care programmes.

•            to be willing to lead or assist in the running of after school activities

•            to be willing to complete a First Aid course and to assist in the administering of First Aid

•            to promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils

•            to encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher

You must be able to demonstrate:

•            Experience in working with children across a range of ages.

•            Flexibility and adaptability.

•            Knowledge, skills and understanding of a range of strategies that will ensure the progress of the children.

•            Relevant qualification (NVQ 2 for Teaching Assistants or demonstrate equivalent knowledge skills and experience).

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
