Zest Education is recruiting an enthusiastic 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work with a Key Stage 1 pupil at a welcoming Primary School in Bloxwich, starting Dec 2025.

Role Overview – 1:1 Teaching Assistant

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing tailored, individualised support to a child who requires additional help with their learning. You’ll work closely with the class teacher and wider support staff to ensure the student’s educational, social, and emotional needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated one-to-one support for a KS1 pupil, helping them access the curriculum effectively

  • Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and differentiated learning strategies

  • Encourage engagement, confidence, and positive behaviour in the classroom

  • Collaborate with teachers and SENCOs to track and report on student progress

  • Create a supportive, inclusive learning environment that promotes growth and achievement

  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities


Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or SEN Teaching Assistant in a school setting

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach

  • Understanding of special educational needs (SEN) and different learning styles

  • Ability to adapt to individual student needs and work collaboratively with the teaching team

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant Certificate) are desirable but not essential
