Zest Education is proud to be exclusively working with a two-form entry school in Handsworth. The school require a KS1 Teacher on a part-time basis. The position is due to start in January 2021 and will initially run for one term. If the candidate and school think it is appropriate, then the contract may be extended for the rest of the academic year.

The school can be challenging for many reasons, funding is low, and the behaviour can be difficult to manage but staff morale is high because they believe they are making a difference to the lives of the pupils who attend. That is the core message from this school, that they are making a difference and will continue to make a difference. The role itself is part time and consists of two days a week in Y1 and one day a week in Y2. The successful candidate will be job sharing with other teachers, but planning must be done for the relevant days.

The successful candidate must be able to communicate well due to the nature of the job share. They must be a team player working towards a common goal alongside the other members of staff. Due to the potentially challenging nature of the pupils, the successful candidate must be resilient and have good behaviour management skills. The school have their own way of dealing with the behaviour and this must always be adhered to so the successful candidate must be willing to adapt some of their skills to make sure the common goal is aligned.

Newley qualified teachers will be considered alongside more experienced teachers for this role. Applicants with experience of KS1 will be in more of an advantageous position. The successful candidate will be given support during their transition into the new role.
