KS2 Teacher – SEND School

About the role

A welcoming and well‑resourced SEND school is seeking an experienced KS2 Teacher to join their team. This is a rewarding opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs and confident in adapting learning to meet a wide range of abilities. You’ll be working with a small class of KS2 pupils, delivering creative, differentiated lessons that help every child progress at their own pace.

Requirements

  • PGCE and QTS are essential
  • SEND teaching experience is essential
  • Strong understanding of KS2 curriculum and how to adapt it for SEND learners
  • Confident managing a range of needs including ASD, SEMH, MLD or SLD
  • Ability to create a calm, structured and nurturing learning environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing

 

Day‑to‑day duties

  • Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons for KS2 pupils
  • Working closely with support staff to meet individual learning needs
  • Using a range of strategies to support communication, emotional regulation and behaviour
  • Tracking and assessing pupil progress in line with school policies
  • Creating a positive, inclusive and supportive classroom environment
  • Building strong relationships with pupils, families and colleagues
  • Contributing to the wider life of the school

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
