Zest Education are currently recruiting a hard-working Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Hurst Green. This is a part-time position starting March 2025. You will be required to work throughout Key Stage 2 (KS2) supporting the class teachers and helping the children within lessons and activities.

In addition to effectively assisting the class teacher in presenting an engaging curriculum, the ideal applicant must be able to encourage and motivate the kids to give everything they have.

You will be required to:

  • Support the classroom teacher in setting up the classroom’s displays and teaching resources.
  • Work well with students to make sure they understand the assignment or project.
  • Help pupils develop the capacity for independent learning.
  • Offer children who require it, one-on-one and small-group assistance.
  • Assisting with educational activities and school outings.
  • Encourage pupils to interact with the class and to participate in the activities.
  • Encourage children to accept responsibility for their actions and to behave well.

You will need to have:

  • A solid understanding of child development and the Key Stage curriculum.
  • Effective verbal communication and attentive listening abilities to interact with parents, co-workers, and other professionals.
  • Genuine enthusiasm and dedication for working with children and supporting their success.
  • Prior experience in an educational setting is preferred.
  • An enhanced DBS or the willingness to obtain one.
  • Strong collaboration abilities and the capacity to operate both independently and cooperatively.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
