Job Description

Zest Education is currently recruiting for a full-time KS2 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Burton upon Trent. This exciting opportunity is due to start in September and will continue until at least December 2026.

This role is ideal for a passionate and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who enjoys supporting Key Stage 2 pupils and helping them develop both academically and personally within a positive school environment.

About the Role

As a KS2 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and pupils across Key Stage 2, providing classroom support and helping children engage with their learning. You will support individuals and small groups, delivering targeted interventions and encouraging pupils to reach their full potential.

The school is seeking a proactive and committed Teaching Assistant who can build strong relationships with pupils and become a valued member of the wider school team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support teaching and learning across Key Stage 2 classes.
  • Work with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce learning objectives.
  • Deliver targeted literacy and numeracy interventions.
  • Encourage pupil engagement, confidence, and independence.
  • Assist teachers with classroom preparation and organisation.
  • Support pupils with varying abilities and learning needs.
  • Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a productive learning environment.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant will:

  • Have experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within Key Stage 2.
  • Be passionate about helping children succeed.
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be patient, adaptable, and enthusiastic.
  • Be confident supporting pupils across a range of subjects and abilities.
  • Work effectively as part of a team.
  • Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
