Job Opportunity: Learning Support Assistant (Year 5)

Location: Castle Bromwich, West Midlands

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on young minds? Zest is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a dynamic team at a vibrant school in Castle Bromwich. As a Learning Support Assistant for our Year 5 class, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting the academic and social development of students.

Role Responsibilities:

  1. Classroom Support: Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities, providing support to individual students or small groups as needed.
  2. Student Progress: Monitor and record the progress of students, offering encouragement and guidance to help them achieve their academic goals.
  3. Behavioural Support: Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting good behaviour and resolving any conflicts that may arise.
  4. Resource Management: Prepare and organize learning materials, ensuring they are accessible and appropriate for students’ needs.
  5. Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, parents, and other staff members to provide holistic support for students’ educational and emotional development.
  6. Personal Development: Take part in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting children’s learning.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping children succeed.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to working in a fast-paced school environment.
  • Relevant qualifications or willingness to undergo training in learning support or child development.

Pay will be starting from £75 per day.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
