Learning Support Assistant, Birmingham.
Zest Education are working with a busy special educational need’s college located in Harborne, Birmingham to recruit a full-time Learning Support Assistant (LSA). This position is due to start from September 2022 term and will be ongoing until the end of the academic year.
This college provides education for students who have visual impairments, Autism (ASC), those with moderate to severe learning difficulties, students with physical disabilities and those with other needs.
The college offers a broad range of study programmes that are tailored to ensure each student receives the educational, therapeutic and support services that they require, helping them achieve their aspirations for adult life. The class sizes are small throughout this college which ensures the support levels are high.
The successful candidate must be dedicated and enthusiastic about supporting and guiding the students. You will be required to work across a range of age groups and learning needs so it is important that you have a flexible approach. The role will require you to quickly build engaging relationships with small groups of children, and you will need to work closely as a team with the class teacher and other Learning Support Assistants.
- You must be passionate about working with students with special educational needs and have previous experience of working in a special school or similar environment
- You will be confident, enthusiastic and be able to identify and engage with different learning needs
- You will be working with the students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, ensuring all children stay on task and have a good understanding of the lesson objectives
