Learning Support Assistant.

We have a brilliant opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant role in a special educational needs school located in Stoke-on-Trent. This is a full-time position commencing September 2022 and will be continue into the new academic year.  This school caters for children from the age of five to fourteen with Autism (ASC) and social, emoti0onal and mental health difficulties (SEMH). The successful candidate must have experience within the care sector or supporting individuals with special educational needs (SEND).

The team here work hard to maintain a supportive and inclusive ethos across all areas of the school and put the children at the heart of what they do. Many of the learners in this environment find it difficult to trust individuals, so we are looking for someone that can build rapport quickly. You will be required to work alongside the teacher, supporting the children with all areas of the curriculum.

The role:

  • You have previous experience supporting individuals with special educational needs (SEND) or within the care sector
  • You support the children to learn as effectively as possible in small groups and on a 1:1 basis
  • Passionate to build trusting relationships with the children to help them manage the learning challenges they may face
