Learning Support Assistant

Job Description

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with severe and profound complex learning difficulties? A reputable special educational needs school in Walsall is currently seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team starting in September 2024.

As a Learning Support Assistant in this specialized school environment, you will play a crucial role in supporting students aged 11-19 through their educational journey. Your responsibilities will include providing individualized assistance to students, both one-on-one and in small groups, catering to their unique learning needs.

The ideal candidate for this role will have prior experience working with special educational needs or in a care setting, demonstrating a compassionate and supportive approach. Building trust with students who may have difficulty connecting with others is key, so strong interpersonal skills and the ability to quickly form meaningful relationships are essential.

Your calm and rational demeanour will be instrumental in de-escalating any challenges that may arise, maintaining a safe and nurturing space for students to thrive.

Make a real difference in the lives of these learners and help them achieve their full potential.
