Learning Support Assistant.

Zest education is working in a close partnership with a school in Walsall who are looking for a passionate, high achieving Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work with them on a full-time basis starting in October 2022. This is a special school for students aged 11-19 with severe and profound complex learning difficulties. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with special educational needs or experience in a care setting.

The school is improving within academic and attainment levels and is continually looking to ensure their students develop into respectable and inspiring individuals. You will be required to work alongside the teacher and establish positive relationships with the children to support them feeling safe and allowing them to learn and enjoy their time at the school.

The successful candidate must be passionate, enthusiastic and be able to identify and engage with different learning needs. You will need to be able to quickly build trusting relationships with the students to help them manage any possible learning challenges.

The role:

  • You must be confident with your behaviour management, keeping disruption to a minimum and de-escalate any challenges you do face with your impressively calm, rational approach.
  • You will be working with the students individually and in small groups so it is important that you are able to engage with a variety of learning difficulties
  • You must be a caring and supportive individual who is passionate in providing the students with the best possible outcomes in life
