Learning Support Assistant.

We are currently recruiting for full-time Learning Support Assistant for an excellent SEND school located in Stoke. This position is due to begin October 2022 and will continue into the new academic year.

This school caters for students from the age of five to seventeen. All the students here have experienced social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH). The school are looking for an individual who is committed to work with the students in overcoming barriers to learning and helping them to experience success. Due to the needs of the learners, the ideal candidate will have experience of working with individuals with SEND and is confident with their behaviour management.

The school is improving within academic and attainment levels and is continually looking to ensure their students develop into respectable and inspiring individuals. The chosen candidate will be required to work in several classrooms, supporting children with their day-to-day activities.

The role:

  • Must be a proactive and engaging individual who has proven experience of having strong behaviour management skills and working across a range of age groups.
  • You will need to be confident, enthusiastic and be able to identify and engage with different learning needs.
  • You will need to be passionate to build trusting relationships with the children to help them manage the learning challenges they may face.

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years, teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
