Zest Education are recruiting for a classroom support role in a busy primary school in Sheldon, Birmingham. The position will be working on a 1-1 basis with a child in Y2 who requires additional support and assistance throughout the day.  The position will be starting as soon as possible and will continue into September 2022.

The successful teaching assistant must:

  • Hold an NVQ Level 2 qualification (or above) in a relevant subject
  • Be an adaptable, efficient, and resourceful classroom assistant
  • Be able to engage with and support a broad range of pupils
  • Be consistent in maintaining high standards and meeting individual needs
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of the national curriculum
  • Have a good understanding of the requirements for children who require additional support with ADHD and autism
  • Have a calm and approachable manner

  • Working within a fast-paced environment
  • Supporting individual children to ensure they have access to an exciting curriculum
  • Adapting your role to the needs of individual children
  • Providing children with a secure and supportive learning environment
  • Working well as part of a team to ensure individual learning plans are followed successfully

The roles will be full time and will be working on a 1-1 basis to support children who need individual support, as and when required.

If you have previous experience working with phonics and ‘Read Write inc’ then this would be advantageous but is not essential.
