Level 3 Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Level 3 Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support – Y2 Class – Easter Start (Frankley)

Zest Education is looking for a committed and compassionate Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a warm and supportive primary school in Frankley from Easter 2026. This full‑time role is based within a Year 2 classroom, working 1:1 with a child who has high behavioural needs and ASD, providing tailored support to help them feel safe, understood and able to learn.

About the Role

In this rewarding position, you will:

  • Offer consistent 1:1 support to a child with additional behavioural and communication needs.
  • Use patience, positivity and structure to help the pupil regulate, focus and engage with learning.
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo and wider staff team to deliver effective strategies and personalised interventions.
  • Create a calm, nurturing environment that helps the child build confidence, develop social skills and achieve small but meaningful milestones.
  • Support the child through emotional regulation, transitions, routines and safe behaviour choices.

What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this role, you must be:

  • NVQ Level 3 qualified (or equivalent) – essential.
  • Experienced in supporting children with ASD, behavioural needs or challenging behaviours.
  • Resilient, empathetic and consistent in your approach.
  • Skilled at using de‑escalation strategies, positive reinforcement and structured routines.
  • Able to build trusting relationships and work collaboratively with the school’s SEND team.
  • Calm, patient and genuinely passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning.

Why This Role Is a Great Fit

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven Teaching Assistant who thrives in a hands‑on, pupil‑focused environment. You’ll be part of a caring school community where staff work together to support children with diverse needs and help every learner feel included and valued. If you enjoy making a real difference and are looking for a long‑term role that’s both challenging and deeply rewarding, this position could be ideal for you.
