Level 3 Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Candidate Requirements

  • Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • Have experience working in a UK primary school setting.
  • A good understanding of Key Stage 1 curriculum and classroom routines.
  • Experience supporting SEND pupils is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with teachers and support staff.
  • A positive, caring attitude and a genuine enthusiasm for helping children succeed.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the class teacher to support daily classroom activities and deliver high-quality learning experiences.
  • Provide targeted support to children with additional needs, including those with SEND.
  • Assist in preparing classroom materials, setting up learning resources, and maintaining an engaging learning environment.
  • Offer one-to-one and small group support to help pupils access the curriculum.
  • Monitor and record children’s progress, feeding back observations to the teacher.
  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage children’s confidence and independence.
  • Contribute to the overall well-being and safeguarding of pupils.
