Lunchtime Supervisor / Catering Assistant

Zest Education is recruiting a Lunchtime Supervisor / Catering Assistant to work at a welcoming school in Tamworth. This dual role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with children while also supporting the smooth running of the school kitchen.

 Key Responsibilities:

Catering Assistant duties:

• Support the kitchen team with preparing and serving meals to pupils and staff

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen and dining areas

• Wash dishes, clean tables, and manage waste safely

• Assist with food preparation under supervision (e.g., sandwiches, salads, or desserts)

• Follow food safety and hygiene procedures at all times

Lunchtime Supervisor duties:

• Supervise pupils in the dining hall and playground during lunchtime

• Encourage positive behaviour, inclusion, and good table manners

• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children during the lunch break

• Work collaboratively with other staff to maintain a safe and friendly environment

Ideal Candidate:

✅ Previous experience in a school, catering, or childcare setting (preferred)
✅ Knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety practices
✅ Friendly, approachable, and confident working with children
✅ Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
✅ Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
