Maths Teacher

Job Description

Zest Education are work alongside schools across the Birmingham, with one school in the Handsworth area, looking for a Maths teacher. The position will start after October half term, to teach across KS3 and KS4, it will be for the remainder of the academic year – with possible permanent role if the fit is right.

It is a large, busy, and highly motivated school who expect the best for and from their students. Being part of a team is key to excelling here as the teachers work together and support one another. They are a Ofsted rated Outstanding school with a very good reputation, this is something they aim to keep. It is situated in a good area so is accessible for both private and public transport.

Being passionate, reliable, creative as well as being well organised will help you succeed in this role. Also building and maintaining good relationships with the students is very important as can help with keeping them on track and getting them to be involved in the lessons.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS
  • A strong passion for the subject of Maths and experience of teaching Maths across GCSE
  • Ability to work well within a team.
  • To be able to plan and deliver high quality lessons.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management
  • Be creative to make lessons enjoyable and accessible for all students.

Rates of pay will vary dependant on experience.

Newly qualified teachers (NQT) / Early careers teachers (ECT) and experienced teachers will be equally considered for this role.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
