Position: Full Time Nursery Assistant

Zest Education is working closely with a wonderful and well-established nursery setting in Burton-on-Trent, which is currently seeking a dedicated and nurturing Nursery Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis, starting immediately.

About the Setting:

This friendly and inclusive nursery is known for providing a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment for children aged 0-5. The team is passionate about encouraging early development through creative play and structured learning. With excellent facilities both indoors and outdoors, the nursery promotes holistic growth and wellbeing, making it a fantastic place to work and grow professionally.

The Role:

As a Nursery Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the daily care and development of young children, helping to create a nurturing space where every child can thrive. You’ll work closely with experienced practitioners, contribute to activity planning, and build strong relationships with children, staff, and families.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum

  • Supporting children through daily routines such as play, meals, and rest time

  • Observing and recording children’s development and progress

  • Promoting a safe and healthy learning environment

  • Working collaboratively as part of a caring and enthusiastic team

The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal Nursery Assistant will be passionate about early years education and confident in supporting children’s development in a structured setting.

Preferred qualifications and experience include:

  • Level 3 qualification in Childcare / Early Years Education (or equivalent)

  • Experience working with children in a nursery or early years setting

  • Strong understanding of EYFS and child development

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • A positive, enthusiastic, and patient approach

  • A current DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
