Part-Time SEND Teaching Assistant – Telford (Start Date: January 2026)

Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Part Time (Monday–Friday, variable days) Location: Telford, Shropshire Start Date: January 2026 Role Type: Part-Time, Term-Time Only

We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join our friendly school community in Telford from January 2026.

About the Role

This rewarding part-time position involves supporting children with mild autism (ASC) in a nurturing classroom environment. You will work closely with teaching staff to provide tailored support that helps pupils develop confidence, independence, and academic progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with mild autism
  • Assisting the class teacher with learning activities and classroom management
  • Helping pupils develop social, emotional, and communication skills
  • Creating a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
  • Supporting pupils during transitions, break times, and structured activities
  • Working collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children with SEND, particularly autism (ASC)
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliability and a genuine passion for supporting young people
  • Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential
