Zest Education is seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher to join a special educational needs school in Rugeley. This part-time role entails working with students aged 5-11 with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH) on a long-term basis starting from September 2024.
Responsibilities:
– Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual students’ needs
– Work with small groups and provide one-on-one support
– Prepare teaching materials and maintain accurate records
– Foster student confidence, independence, and a love for learning
– Assist in developing students’ social skills and emotional intelligence
Requirements:
– Holds a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS, QTLS, or equivalent)
– Extensive experience supporting neurodiverse children, especially those with Autism (ASC) and SEMH needs
– Proficient in managing challenging behaviours with a calm and supportive approach
– Understanding of communication, learning, and behavioural implications in neurodiverse children
– Ability to promote de-escalation and emotional regulation techniques

Zest Education are an REC audited agency and are dedicated to safeguarding children. All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.
Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
