Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with special educational needs? Zest Education is currently seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a special educational needs school in Lichfield.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students aged 2-19 with physical disabilities and complex medical needs. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that these students receive the support they need to succeed academically and emotionally.
This part-time role, starting in September 2024, offers a unique opportunity to work in a rewarding environment where you can make a real impact. The position has the potential to become permanent for the right candidate who possesses previous experience in special educational needs. Flexibility, empathy, and a strong commitment to safeguarding are essential qualities we are looking for in our ideal candidate.
In this role, you will be assisting the teachers in managing students’ behaviour and providing additional support in the classroom. You will also be responsible for preparing teaching resources as requested by the teachers. It is crucial that you model good practice as a Teaching Assistant during lessons, providing a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Furthermore, the ability to quickly build engaging relationships with small groups of children is essential. You will be part of a collaborative team, working closely with the class teacher and other teaching assistants to ensure the best outcomes for our students.

All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.
Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
