Job Description

Zest Education is recruiting a part time Teaching Assistant to work in a friendly and supportive primary school in Tamworth. This role is ideal for an experienced or aspiring Teaching Assistant who enjoys supporting upper Key Stage 2 pupils, particularly in Year 5 and Year 6.

About the Role

  • Role: Part Time Teaching Assistant

  • Year Groups: Year 5 / Year 6 (KS2)

  • Location: Tamworth, Staffordshire

  • Start Date: As soon as possible

  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 12:30pm

The successful candidate will support pupils within the classroom, helping them stay engaged, confident, and ready to learn. Experience with SATs preparation is ideal but not essential, making this a great opportunity for Teaching Assistants looking to build KS2 experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils in Year 5 and Year 6 during morning lessons

  • Assist with small group and in-class support, including English and Maths

  • Help pupils prepare for SATs, where appropriate

  • Work closely with the class teacher to support learning outcomes

  • Encourage confidence, independence, and positive behaviour

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant (school-based experience preferred)

  • SATs experience is desirable but not essential

  • Ability to commit to Monday–Friday, 9am–12:30pm

  • Reliable, patient, and proactive approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
