Part-time Teaching Assistant.

Zest Education are recruiting for a special educational needs school located in Kings Norton, Birmingham. The school are looking for a part-time Teaching Assistant to start from October 2022 until February half term. You will be required to work up to 3 days a week of your choosing.

The school itself caters for children from the age of five to thirteen with Autism (ASC) and social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH). The ideal candidate must have previous experience supporting individuals with special educational needs or in a similar setting.

The successful candidate will need to be able to build positive relationships with all the students, so you can motivate them to do well and reach their full potential. You must be resilient and work well in a team. The school supports training and development for all of its staff and is continually looking for strong team players to join their team.

The role:

  • You have previous experience of supporting individuals with special educational needs or in a care environment
  • This school caters for a variety of ages, so you may be required to work with both primary and secondary aged students.
  • Implement positive behaviour management strategies and de-escalate any challenges you do face with your calm approach
