Part-time Teaching Assistant.

Zest Education is working in close partnership with a primary special educational needs school located in Handsworth, Birmingham. The school are looking to appoint a part-time Teaching Assistant to start October 2022 and will continue on a long-term basis into the new academic year. The successful Teaching Assistant must be able to work 2 days a week, 8:30-15:30.

The school caters for children from the age of four to twelve with Autism and all children have an EHCP. Due to the needs of the learners, the ideal candidate must have experience supporting individuals with special educational needs or in a similar setting.

This school has achieved ‘outstanding’ on the latest OFSTED report and is very proud of these achievements, this school are seeking an individual to strive to maintain these excellent standards. You will be required to work alongside the teacher, supporting the learning by preparing resources and working with the children in small groups as well as on a 1:1 basis.

The role:

  • You have experience supporting individuals with special educational needs or in a care setting
  • All class sizes are small throughout this school and do not exceed no more of 6 students, you will be required to work 1:1 and in small groups
  • You will be confident, enthusiastic and be able to identify and engage with different learning needs

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years, teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
