Zest are recruiting exclusively for a SEND school in Lichfield for a part-time Teaching Assistant to join their team. This position is due to begin ASAP and will continue on a long term basis. There is potential of becoming a permanent position is the right candidate is found. The successful candidate must be able to commit to 3 days a week (which can be discussed at interview) 8:30-15:30.
This school caters for students from the age of 5-18 with complex communication and learning difficulties alongside significant medical needs. Due to the needs of the learners, the ideal candidate will have experience of working with individuals with special educational needs (SEND).
You will not find yourself getting bored in this role! Each day brings new challenges, and opportunities for development and to demonstrate your supportive skills as a Teaching Assistant. You may be required to work on a 1:1 basis or in small groups.
This role involves working closely with the class teacher and therapists to provide individualised support for a specific student, targeting individualised learning approaches, emotional regulation, and communication.
The role:
- You must be passionate about working with students with special educational needs and have previous experience of working in a special school or similar environment
- You will be confident, enthusiastic and be able to identify and engage with different learning needs
- You will be supporting students with a variety of needs and ages so it is important that you are able to who can adapt your practice wherever necessary to support across all key stages
