Part-Time Year 5 Teaching Assistant

Location: Sutton Coldfield

Start Date: September 2024

Are you passionate about supporting young learners and eager to make a positive impact in a vibrant school community? Zest are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Part-Time Year 5 Teaching Assistant to join a KS2 class in Sutton Coldfield starting in September 2024.

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Year 5 Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the class teacher and helping students succeed. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the planning and delivery of engaging lessons.
  • Providing one-on-one and small group support to students.
  • Helping to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Supporting students with their social and emotional development.
  • Assisting with classroom management and maintaining a safe learning environment.
  • Preparing and organizing teaching materials and resources.
  • Participating in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities.

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children, preferably in a school setting.
  • A genuine passion for education and helping students achieve their best.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Basic understanding of the Year 5 curriculum is a plus.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools) are desirable but not essential.

Working Hours:

This is a part-time position, with working hours to be discussed and agreed upon during the interview process.

Pay starts from £75 per day, based on references and experience.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
