PPA Class Teacher

Job Description

Zest Education are seeking to appoint a committed, flexible and enthusiastic PPA Class Teacher to join our vibrant primary school in Handsworth from September 2026.

This role offers a varied and rewarding opportunity to work across the school, covering teachers’ planning, preparation and assessment (PPA) time. The successful candidate will teach across a range of year groups and subjects, delivering high-quality lessons and maintaining consistency in pupils’ learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality teaching across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2 (depending on school structure)
  • Deliver pre-planned lessons effectively, ensuring continuity of learning
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Manage behaviour in line with the school’s policies
  • Work closely with teaching staff to ensure smooth transitions and effective communication
  • Contribute to assessment and feedback where required

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Has strong classroom practice across the primary age range (ECTs welcome to apply)
  • Is adaptable, organised and confident teaching different year groups

  • Is committed to inclusion and supporting all learners

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
