Pupil Support Assistant

Job Description

Looking for an exciting role working across multiple classes? Zest Education is recruiting for a Pupil Support Assistant to join a primary school in Northfield. This full-time maternity cover position, starting in December 2023, will involve supporting pupils across the upper key stage 2 classes.

As a Pupil Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the learning experience of the children. In the mornings, you will support core curriculum lessons, ensuring that each pupil receives the individual attention they need to thrive academically. Your expertise in these subjects will be invaluable in helping pupils grasp complex concepts and achieve their full potential.

In the afternoons, you will focus on delivering small group interventions, targeting specific areas where students may require additional support. These sessions will be planned for you by the class teachers. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to support foundation curriculum lessons, providing a well-rounded educational experience for the children. Your creativity and enthusiasm will inspire young minds as you assist the classroom teacher in delivering engaging and interactive lessons.

To excel in this role, you should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff, collaborating as a team to ensure the success of the children. Your ability to build strong relationships with pupils, understanding their individual strengths and challenges, will be crucial in fostering a positive and nurturing learning environment.

Requirements:
– Previous experience working with primary school children that can be referenced
– Strong subject knowledge in core curriculum areas
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
– Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for education
