Resource Base Teaching Assistant – Full Time | South Birmingham | Immediate Start

Are you a passionate and experienced Resource Base Teaching Assistant looking for a long-term opportunity to make a real impact? Zest Education is recruiting for a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist resource base in a friendly and inclusive primary school in Kings Heath, Birmingham. This position is available immediately and will continue on a long-term basis until summer 2026.

About the Role:

This is a highly rewarding role supporting children with high additional needs, including autism, complex learning difficulties, and physical disabilities. As a Resource Base TA, you will play a vital role in helping pupils access learning, develop key life skills, and thrive in a nurturing environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support within the school’s resource base

  • Supporting pupils with personal care, including toileting and hygiene needs

  • Assisting the class teacher with tailored interventions and daily routines

  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies

  • Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, including SENCOs and external professionals

Candidate Requirements:

To be considered for this Resource Base Teaching Assistant role, you must have:

  • NVQ Level 3 (or higher) in Supporting Teaching and Learning or an equivalent qualification

  • Proven experience supporting children with special educational needs in a school or resource base setting

  • A strong understanding of complex needs, EHCPs, and inclusive learning strategies

  • Confidence and willingness to support personal care routines

  • A caring, patient, and adaptable approach
