Zest Education is seeking excellent Caretakers/Premises Officers to work within schools in the Birmingham area. The role involves responsibilities such as opening and closing the site, maintaining general upkeep of the school premises, and ensuring cleanliness.
We are looking for ambitious individuals who are eager to develop their skills and build a long-term career in this field. While school experience is not necessary (preferable), essential requirements include transferable “handy man” skills.
Key Responsibilities:
– Opening and closing school premises
– General maintenance tasks within the school
– Ensuring cleanliness and tidiness of the school environment
Key Requirements:
– Strong handyman skills
– Ambitious and eager to learn
– Ability to work independently
– Excellent organisational skills

All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you, the cost of the DBS is £61.30) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.
Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position is recent and relevant experience, ideally school-based within the last 5 years.
