Zest Education are working closely with a secondary school in the Smethwick area who are looking for a science teacher to join their expanding team.

The school, which was rated ‘Good’ following its latest inspection, has a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere. Pupils and staff are proud of their school. Leaders promote tolerance and community cohesion and make the most of the multicultural intake of the school.

This role is to start in September 2022 on a full-time basis for one academic term. You would be teaching KS3, KS4 and KS5 classes and would expect the successful candidate to fulfil all aspects of the teaching role which includes; planning, marking, completing reports, data collections, duties, meetings and parents evenings.


The successful candidate must have:

  • A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS
  • A great team ethos and want to be part of a strong team environment
  • A strong passion and knowledge for the subject of science
  • The ability to plan, mark and deliver high quality lessons
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management



Rate of pay varies dependant on experience.

Both newly qualified teachers (NQT) / Early careers teachers (ECT) and experienced teachers will be equally considered for this role.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years, teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
