Science Technician

Job Description

Zest Education are currently seeking a Science Technician to join an excellent secondary school located in the Solihull area. The school is known for its high standards and commitment to providing a supportive learning environment for both staff and students. Situated in a lovely location, the school benefits from onsite parking and strong public transport links, making it easily accessible.

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Science Technician, you will be responsible for assisting the senior technician in preparing and supporting practical science activities within the school. Your main duties will include setting up equipment, preparing materials, and ensuring the smooth running of practical sessions. You will work closely with the science department staff to support the delivery of engaging and educational science lessons. This is a full time role due to start in September 2024.

Requirements:

– Previous experience working as a Science Technician or similar role is desirable
– Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to science laboratories
– Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
– Ability to work effectively as part of a team
– Excellent communication skills

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
