Job Description

Zest Education is recruiting for a caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in Loughborough from September 2025. This is a full-time opportunity ideal for someone passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs and making a real difference in their school experience.

 Role Details:

Starting in September, this full-time role (Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 3:00pm) will involve working closely with children who have special educational needs, providing one-to-one and small group support. You’ll play a key role in helping pupils access learning, build confidence, and thrive in a structured and nurturing classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils with a range of SEN, such as autism, ADHD, or speech and language needs

  • Adapting learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO

  • Creating a calm, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

  • Developing positive relationships with pupils and helping manage behaviour

  • Contributing to the overall classroom support and wellbeing of pupils

Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN (in school or similar settings)

  • A calm, patient, and resilient attitude

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Passion for supporting children’s development and progress

  • A current DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
