Teaching Assistant – Knowle

Job Description

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs and disabilities? Zest Education is excited to announce a job opening for a SEND Teaching Assistant role in a lovely school located in Knowle.

This outstanding school has a strong focus on Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and aims to provide a nurturing and inclusive environment for their students. The school caters to children aged 4-16 who hold an Education, Health and Care plan (EHCP) in addition to other additional needs.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the needs of these students. You will be working closely with small groups and providing one-on-one assistance to students across a range of ages. Experience in teaching within an EHCP framework is highly valued, as it will enable you to effectively meet the individual needs of each student.

One of the key aspects of this role is maintaining positive behaviour management, with a strong focus on de-escalation strategies. You will work collaboratively with the class teacher to create an engaging and supportive classroom environment that fosters learning and growth. Being able to drive is a requirement for this position.

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years, teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
