SEND 1:1 Support Assistant

Zest Education is delighted to be recruiting for a SEND 1:1 Support Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Leamington Spa. The school is committed to providing a nurturing environment where every child can thrive, and they are seeking a dedicated individual to provide tailored support for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

This role will begin in January 2026 and is offered as a full‑time position, Monday to Friday, on a long‑term contract. You will be working on a 1:1 basis with a pupil diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), supporting them in the classroom to access learning, develop social and emotional skills, and build confidence in their education.

As a SEND 1:1 Support Assistant, your daily responsibilities will include assisting with tailored learning activities, implementing behaviour management strategies, supporting communication and social interaction, and encouraging independence. You will also contribute to individual education plans (IEPs) and work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to ensure consistent support.

Candidate Requirements:

• Experience working with children with SEND, particularly Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent childcare/education qualification).
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff.
• Patience, empathy, and resilience when supporting children with additional needs.
• Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and techniques to create a safe, inclusive environment.
• A genuine passion for helping children with SEND reach their full potential.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
