SEND Learning Support Assistant

Are you ready to make an impact on the lives of students with severe and complex learning difficulties? Zest is currently recruiting for a full-time SEND Learning Support Assistant on a long-term basis, with the possibility of the role becoming permanent on behalf of a school in Wolverhampton. The correct candidate will be available to start as soon as possible.

This school caters for students between the ages of 3yo-11yo who have severe and complex learning difficulties. The ideal SEND Learning Support Assistant will be encouraging and supporting students to achieve academic success. Previous experience in a similar setting or role is desirable.

Responsibilities of the SEND Teaching Assistant role:

• Implementing strategies outlined in Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) to address specific goals
• Encouraging student participation in activities and class discussions
• Recognising and address sensory sensitivities, creating a sensory-friendly environment
• Providing physical support to students with mobility challenges, ensuring their safety and well-being
• Contributing to ongoing evaluation and adjustment of support strategies

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
