Are you looking to positively impact the lives of students who suffer with special educational needs? Zest is currently recruiting for a full-time SEND Learning Support Assistant on behalf of a school in Kingstanding to support students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD and Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH).

This school caters for students between the ages of 9yo-16yo. The ideal SEND Learning Support Assistant will be supporting student engagement and encouraging them to be their best academic and social self. The role will be starting as soon as possible for the correct candidate.


Responsibilities of the SEND Learning Support Assistant include:

  • Encouraging student engagement in class discussions and activities
  • Implementing behaviour management strategies to help students regulate their behaviour and emotions
  • Assisting in adapting and differentiating classroom materials to meet the diverse needs of each student
  • Facilitating social skills development through structured activities and social interactions
  • Encouraging and supporting the development of independent learning skills and self-regulation

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
