SEND Learning Support Assistant

Job Description

Zest Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate SEND Learning Support Assistant to join a reputable school in and around Derbyshire. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young individuals with moderate to complex needs.

Responsibilities:
– Supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities in their academic and personal development.
– Monitoring and managing challenging behaviours effectively.
– Providing one-to-one or small group support in the classroom.
– Motivate and encourage individuals inside the classroom

Requirements:
– Previous experience working with individuals with SEND is essential.
– Strong understanding of SEND practices and strategies.
– Ability to build positive relationships with students and create a supportive learning environment.
– Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
– Relevant qualifications in education or special needs would be advantageous.

The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
