We are currently looking for a SEND teacher for a special educational needs school located in Birmingham. This school caters for students from the age of three to eighteen with autism, so we are looking for someone that has previous experience of working within a SEND environment. Due to the students needs, you will be teaching students of mixes ages in KS2. We are ideally looking for someone that has a good understanding of PECs and Makaton.
This role is due to start after May half term and will continue until the end of the academic year on a part time basis. It has been outlined that it is highly likely that the position will be extended and for the right person, it will be until the end of the academic year. You will be expected to take on the full teaching role on a three day a week basis.
- Teaching a small class size of seven autistic students, while being supported by three learning support assistants.
- You will have experience of working with SEND and a good understanding of P scales.
- This positions suits teachers from both a primary and secondary SEND background.
