Are you passionate about special education and working with children who have range of physical, medical, and learning needs? Zest Education is currently recruiting for a full-time experienced and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant on behalf of a school located West of the Coventry City Centre to start as soon as possible. The role is temporary on-going but may have long-term potential for the right candidate.

The school you will be working in provides exceptional educational support for students with a range of moderate to severe sensory impairments and physical disabilities. The SEND Teaching Assistant role will be perfect for an individual that has experience with such conditions and is passionate about overcoming these learning barriers.

 

Responsibilities of the SEND Teaching Assistant role include:

  • Assisting in delivering tailored lesson plans, ensuring students’ individual requirements are met
  • Working collaboratively with teachers in order to deliver the best possible learning experience to the students
  • Working 1:1 and in small groups, building strong rapport with the students
  • Monitoring and recording students’ progress and relaying back to the class teacher

 

Requirements of the SEND Teaching Assistant role include:

  • Experience working with children with sensory impairments and physical disabilities,
  • Sign language is essential for the role
  • Working collaboratively with teachers in order to deliver the best possible learning experience
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping children overcome learning barriers
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
