Are you passionate about supporting children with autism and are currently looking for a full-time role? Zest is currently recruiting for a a full-time SEND Teaching Assistant on behalf of a school in Erdington for the remainder of the academic year to start immediately.

This school caters for students between the ages of 11yo-19yo to support students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The ideal SEND Teaching Assistant will have experience supporting students of a similar nature previously or have relevant experience in a similar setting previously.


Responsibilities of the SEND Teaching Assistant role:

  • Providing individualised support to students, adapting teaching materials to accommodate strengths
  • Addressing social and behavioural needs, promoting positive behaviour
  • Assisting transitions between activities, providing guidance to navigate change successfully
  • Implementing crisis intervention strategies when necessary
  • Recording and relaying data regarding student progress to class teacher

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
