Zest is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join a Special Educational Needs school in Derbyshire as a full-time Teaching Assistant. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where young individuals with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs are supported to grow and develop.
Responsibilities:
– Assist the classroom teacher in delivering tailored educational activities for students with SEMH needs
– Provide one-on-one support to students with varying levels of ability and needs
– Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all students
– Support students in developing their social and emotional skills
– Collaborate with the school staff and parents to ensure the best possible outcomes for each student
Requirements:
– Previous experience working in a Special Educational Needs environment is essential
– Ability to remain calm and problem solve effectively under pressure
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills
– Genuine passion for supporting the development of young individuals with SEMH needs
– Relevant qualifications in education or special needs support are desirable

All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.
Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
