Zest Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Burton. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with children with special educational needs, supporting their learning, development, and wellbeing in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
Support individual pupils and small groups to achieve their learning targets
Lead interventions such as speech and language, Lego therapy, Zones of Regulation, phonics, and maths
Work closely with the SENCO to deliver personalised programmes of support in line with Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs)
Provide supervision during playtimes and lunchtimes
Maintain positive links with parents, making them feel welcome and involved
Collaborate with external agencies to implement recommended strategies and support
Assist with personal care and communication needs of pupils, following EHCP guidance
We are looking for a SEND TA who:
Has a positive, can-do attitude and strong work ethic
Is passionate about supporting SEND children and committed to going the extra mile
Can plan, adapt, and deliver 1:1 or group learning activities to meet individual needs
Works effectively as part of a team and communicates clearly with colleagues and parents
Demonstrates inclusivity and actively seeks to remove barriers to learning
Has confidence and enthusiasm to lead interventions and support pupil progress
Applicants will need:
GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths – Grade 4/C or above
Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
Experience working with children with special educational needs
Proven experience in planning and delivering learning activities for SEND pupils
Work in a supportive, inclusive, and high-achieving school
Be part of a dedicated, friendly, and professional team
Make a real difference to the learning, development, and wellbeing of SEND children

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
