SEND Teaching Assistant – Great Barr

Job Description

Zest Education is thrilled to announce a new opportunity for a full-time teaching assistant position in the Great Barr area. At the heart of the community, this school focuses on supporting and nurturing young individuals between the ages of 3 to 18 who face severe learning disabilities (SLD). We believe in the importance of providing the best educational outcomes for these children, and we are seeking a candidate who shares this vision.

The ideal candidate for this position will have experience working with children and young individuals with complex needs. They will be confident in their ability to work with students of all ages, from young children to teenagers. By providing essential life skills, they will help foster independence, improve communication, and enhance social abilities.

Responsibilities:

– Assisting the classroom teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
– Providing one-on-one support to students with complex needs, as well as working with small groups.
– Monitoring and documenting student progress, ensuring effective communication with families.
– Implementing a dynamic and personalized curriculum that focuses on essential life skills development.

The rate of pay for this role would be between £72 -£85 per day depending on experience and references.

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years, teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
