SENDCo, Secondary

Job Description

Zest Education are currently seeking an experienced SENDCo to join an ‘Outstanding’ Secondary School in the Bournville area. The school prides itself on maintaining high standards of education and providing a nurturing environment for all students. This is a full time role due to commence in September 2025. The role is expected to run for the full academic year.

Responsibilities:

– Develop and implement strategies to support the inclusion of students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
– Ensure individualised support plans are implemented effectively
– Monitor the progress of students with SEND and provide appropriate support as needed
– Support teachers in planning and differentiating lessons to meet the diverse needs of students
– Ensure compliance with legal requirements and maintain accurate records related to SEND provision
– Provide training and guidance to staff on SEND matters

Requirements:

– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with relevant SEND qualifications
– Proven experience working as a SENDCo in a secondary school setting
– Excellent knowledge of current legislation, policies, and best practices related to SEND
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with students, staff, and parents
– Ability to effectively analyse data and use it to inform decision-making and intervention strategies
– Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment and promoting equality and diversity

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
