Zest Education are currently seeking an experienced SENDCo to join an ‘Outstanding’ Secondary School in the Bournville area. The school prides itself on maintaining high standards of education and providing a nurturing environment for all students. This is a full time role due to commence in April 2024. The role is expected to run for the rest of the academic year.

Responsibilities:

– Develop and implement strategies to support the inclusion of students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
– Ensure individualised support plans are implemented effectively
– Monitor the progress of students with SEND and provide appropriate support as needed
– Support teachers in planning and differentiating lessons to meet the diverse needs of students
– Ensure compliance with legal requirements and maintain accurate records related to SEND provision
– Provide training and guidance to staff on SEND matters

Requirements:

– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with relevant SEND qualifications
– Proven experience working as a SENDCo in a secondary school setting
– Excellent knowledge of current legislation, policies, and best practices related to SEND
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with students, staff, and parents
– Ability to effectively analyse data and use it to inform decision-making and intervention strategies
– Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment and promoting equality and diversity
