Zest Education is excited to offer a rewarding opportunity for a passionate and dedicated Special Needs Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school for a 4-week contract. This is the perfect role for someone who thrives on making a difference and finds joy in helping every child reach their potential. Working Monday to Friday, 8:00am–3:00pm, you’ll play an essential part in creating a positive, nurturing learning environment where every child feels supported and valued. If you’re looking for a role that’s both meaningful and fulfilling, this is your chance to truly make an impact.

As a Special Needs Support Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Promoting inclusion and encouraging independence in each pupil’s learning journey
  • Supporting with classroom organisation and adapting learning materials where needed
  • Monitoring pupil progress and feeding back to teachers and the SENCO
  • Building positive, trusting relationships with students, staff, and parents
  • Encouraging social and emotional development through patience, empathy, and creativity

The school you’ll be joining is a warm, inclusive, and community-focused setting that prides itself on providing exceptional support for its pupils. Staff are friendly, approachable, and passionate about creating a learning environment where every child can flourish. You’ll be welcomed into a team that values collaboration, kindness, and a shared commitment to making learning accessible for all.

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting children with SEND in a school or childcare setting
  • A relevant qualification such as Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant certificate (or equivalent)
  • A genuine passion for working with children and helping them succeed
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach to learning support
  • A valid DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Zest Education

You’ll receive personal support from a dedicated consultant, regular check-ins, and access to rewarding opportunities that match your experience and goals. Join Zest and feel confident knowing you’re part of a supportive, professional, and passionate education community.
