SPECIALIST RESOURCE PROVISION LEADER/ASSISTANT SENDCO (Maternity cover)

Job Description

Zest Education are recruiting for a primary school in Chasetown who need someone to work in their internal specialist resource provision during the morning sessions and provide support to the school SENDCO during the afternoon.

The Specialist Resourced Provision has three rooms supporting children with cognition and Learning, SEMH difficulties and children who are pre-verbal.

This school is a successful 2 form entry primary school in Chasetown with an excellent reputation and provides a lively and creative environment in which to work. They gained ‘Good’ in their most recent Ofsted inspection and are a part of a popular multi academy trust. At this primary school, children are at the heart of everything they do. They encourage them to be ‘Open to Possibilities’ and  believe that ‘Anything is Possible’ as they strive to achieve their best outcomes in all areas, whatever their personal starting points may be.

We are looking for someone who:

  • is passionate about ensuring that every child with a barrier to learning gets the best provision
  • has a good understanding of effective SEND provision
  • is enthusiastic and confident teacher/practitioner, able to develop a can-do attitude in all aspects of the development of SEND provision
  • is determined to ensure that SEND provision recommendations are in place, consistent and of the highest standard.

Assistant SENCo

The successful candidate will support the needs of children with SEND and work with the Deputy Headteacher (SENDCO) by putting in place support to remove barriers to learning.

Working hours:             Monday to Friday, Part time or full time (This post can be either a single full time role or two part time roles)

Part time – Teachers – 0.5 FTE Specialist Provision Leader, 0.5 FTE Assistant SENDCO role.

Part time – Associate staff – 17.5 hrs per wk, term time

Contract:                         Fixed term to cover a maternity leave

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
