Are you a passionate and dedicated teacher looking to make a difference in the lives of students with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH)? Zest Education is seeking a qualified teacher with experience in Special Educational Needs to join a school located in Stoke-on-Trent starting September 2024 on a long-term basis.

As a teacher in this environment, you will be responsible for planning and delivering creative lessons tailored to meet the diverse learning requirements of students aged 5-19 with SEMH. Your role will involve preparing teaching materials, marking work, setting up the classroom, and creating engaging displays to facilitate a stimulating learning environment. Regular PPA time will be allocated to support your planning and preparation.

Effective communication with parents, senior leaders, and colleagues is crucial in monitoring students’ progress and ensuring a collaborative approach to education. You will be expected to adhere to the school’s policies and procedures, including safeguarding protocols, and contribute to maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment.

To excel in this role, you must hold a valid Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have a genuine passion for working with children with SEND. Enhanced DBS clearance or a willingness to obtain one is essential, along with proficient written and verbal communication skills.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
