Teacher – Alternative Provision

Job Description

Zest Education is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher to join a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Cannock. This full-time role is set to begin immediately and will run for the remainder of the academic year.

As a teacher at this school, you will be responsible for providing high-quality education to students aged 3-11 with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH). We are looking for someone who excels in behaviour management and is confident in handling challenging behaviours effectively.

Key responsibilities include planning and delivering inclusive lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You will need to adapt teaching methods and resources to suit individual learning styles and abilities, creating a supportive classroom environment that promotes academic progress, emotional well-being, and positive behaviour.

Collaboration is vital at this school, and you will work closely with other teachers, teaching assistants, and support staff to develop individualized Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and implement strategies for student progress. The school prides itself on its welcoming atmosphere and supportive senior leadership team, leading to good staff retention rates.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
