Teacher of Chemistry

Job Description

Zest Education are looking to recruit a Teacher of Chemistry for a well-established secondary school in the Solihull area. This is a full-time position, and we are looking for someone who can commit to delivering high-quality teaching and maintaining the school’s excellent standards. The role is due to commence in April 2025 and is expected to run for a minimum of one term.

Responsibilities:

– Plan and deliver engaging and interactive Chemistry lessons to students across different year groups
– Assess and evaluate student progress regularly to ensure effective learning outcomes
– Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel supported and motivated to succeed
– Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies and resources
– Provide timely feedback and guidance to students to help them improve their understanding of Chemistry concepts
– Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the overall development of the Chemistry curriculum
– Support and mentor students during practical experiments and laboratory work
– Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and behaviour
– Stay updated with developments in the field of Chemistry and incorporate relevant content into lessons
– Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times, following school policies and procedures

Requirements:

– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Chemistry or a related field
– Experience teaching Chemistry at the secondary school level
– Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Chemistry
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and motivate students
– Ability to create and deliver engaging lessons that cater to different learning styles and abilities
– Understanding of assessment techniques and the ability to provide constructive feedback
– Organisational skills to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
– Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a positive working environment
– Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
